In need of a plimsoll for direct competition with Vans and the numerous other brands offering this classic silhouette, Converse reached into the Jams vault and resurrected their Skidgrip model early last year. It started with a straight-up retro release in wild colors, but the Skidgrip has been a major part of Converse Japan’s offerings in recent months, and now as a member of Converse First String. The Nom du Guerre x Converse Skidgrip is pictured above in black waxed canvas with brass eyelets and cream soles, a look that’ll be available at Converse First String retailers like Canada’s Haven starting July 30th.
