In need of a plimsoll for direct competition with Vans and the numerous other brands offering this classic silhouette, Converse reached into the Jams vault and resurrected their Skidgrip model early last year.  It started with a straight-up retro release in wild colors, but the Skidgrip has been a major part of Converse Japan’s offerings in recent months, and now as a member of Converse First String.  The Nom du Guerre x Converse Skidgrip is pictured above in black waxed canvas with brass eyelets and cream soles, a look that’ll be available at Converse First String retailers like Canada’s Haven starting July 30th.

This is hands down the best trainer I have had in years. I bought a pair of the Nike Air Trainer Max 91 as well and while those are a great shoe, this one is well worth the extra $5.We’re glad Bo Jackson’s still a big part of Nike Training today, but let’s look back at one of his classics – the Nike Air Trainer Max ‘91. This shoe is indeed a Sneaker News favorite, as it was featured in our Classics Revisited segment, and this second retro of the grey/yellow colorway should be a real treat for Trainer fans. Last year’s retro of the Trainer SC  was a big hit and we reckon the grey/yellow original colorway of the Max ‘91 to be the same, although this time you’ll get a nubuck upper opposed to the thick durabuck upper that was used in the original. If you missed out on the retro from half a decade ago, here’s your chance again: These are set to drop in August but already popped up in some shops like Premier, so don’t sleep! They are light, they are durable, and they fit like a glove. The image of the Grey/Black/Silver/Team Orange is slightly different than the actual shoe I received, but the one I received still looks great.

This morning brought us a New Balance 574 owned a patch of olive green building, complete with accents of 3M. That is not the only shoe however, as the blue colorway has also been released from NB Web Express. Like the previous partner, it has accents of gray N 3M logo and heel tab. Tan and red accents can also be found throughout this super dress shoe.

I was introduced to Jeremy's work first through my friends over at fruition, which showed many of the pieces that left me speechless.
